May 22, 2006 - Monday, 11:14 p.m.

Friday was a nice day. Graduation was over very quickly. I actually enjoyed the speeches. There werent a lot of us graduating, as our commencements were only for grad students. We took pictures and I hope to get some copies of Dans. Going through this program with Dan was really nice. It was wonderful to have someone to walk through all the steps with.

After graduation we went out to eat at Red Lobster. (Curt, Phil, Mom, Dad, Maureen, Camille, Megan, Kyle & Maleah) It was a nice meal. When I got home Kary and Deneen pulled in right behind me. They came in the house and I went and got ready to go. We went to a graduation party at Nancy Moores house. I saw a couple of people I hadnt seen in a while and enjoyed visiting with them very much.

I was up by about 8 am on Saturday morning. I worked in the yard. I weeded the vegetable garden and planted the two rose bushes Id bought on Friday. It was a nice quiet day, and I didnt do much beyond that.

Sunday was quiet as well. I slept in until about 9 or so and putzed around until it was time to get ready to go to my graduation party. It was a wonderful party. My family and friends were all there. They all did a beautiful job of pulling it all together. It was a special day.

Im done. It seemed like life should be different. But today was just like any other day. The only new thing that happened is that I heard from someone that pulled my resume off of Monster. They are tasked with filling a position at Boeing here in town. It is an AutoCAD specialist position and would nearly double my salary!! Unbelievable!! I am hoping to get an interview at least. It would be nice to get some practice doing that. It would be very nice to be able to stay here in town. It was a very encouraging day. It is starting to feel possible that things are going to get better financially. It would be nice to not have to worry about that all the time.

When I got home from work tonight I watered the plants in the front yard and then trimmed the two bushes in the flower bed along the drive way. They look a little sparse but I got rid of a lot of the dead branches. Then after dark the wind came up, the chimes rang and it poured. I could hear the train passing through town, blowing its whistle in the midst of the down pour. I wish it would rain all evening. As I sit here at the computer with the windows open I can smell the rain. I love that smell. Im wishing the wind would pick up so that the smell would come in stronger and my chimes would ring some more.

Ive been thinking about the things I want to do this summer. I want to read a number of the books around here, and Id like to start riding my bike in the evening after the sun has gone behind the mountains and before it gets dark. For the last three years Ive had something that I needed to do. Something I could focus on, something to accomplish. Its going to take a while to ease into a new pattern that will be my life. I like having my boys here, but I know that in the next few years they'll go out into the world. It isnt something I've had to think about for a while, but its creeping back in now.

Im tired I have other things I am pondering, but I really need to turn off the lights, crawl into bed and lie and listen to the noises outside and breathe deeply the rain fresh air wafting in the windows.

Sweet dreams. M.
